Contents
Debug Menu
The English fan translation of the original Japanese version of the game re-enables a debug menu, strikingly similar to the one in Hudson's Adventure Island II (also by Now Production), accessed by pressing I on the title screen.
Scene Select Mode
This is the screen that appears when first loading the debug menu, consisting of a stage select (SCENE NO.) and debug flag (DEBUG FL). Setting the debug flag to a nonzero value enables a free-movement mode (pause, hold Select, and use the D-Pad to move Bravoman around). Setting the debug flag to an odd value makes Bravoman invincible.
- I: Switch between SCENE NO. and DEBUG FL
- Left/Right: Change value by 1
- Up/Down: Change value by 10
- Select: Open Test Mode
- Run: Start Game at chosen stage
Test Mode
This menu is accessed by pressing Select in the Scene Select and features a whole slew of options, described below.
- Up/Down: Choose an option
- I: Go to selected option
- Select: Return to Scene Select
- Run: Return to Title Screen
OBJ Test
A sprite test.
- I/II: Change sprite bank
- Left/Right: Cycle through sprites
- Run: Return to Test Menu
CHA Test
A tile viewer. There does not seem to be a way to change the palette.
- Left/Right: Change page
- Run: Return to Test Menu
Sound Test
A basic sound test.
- Left/Right: Change digit
- Up/Down: Increment/decrement chosen digit
- I: Play music/sound effect
- II: Stop music/sound effect
- Run: Return to Test Menu
Message Test
View all of the game's text. Note that the below controls won't work until the current message is fully loaded.
- Left/Right: Cycle through messages
- Up/Down/I/II/Select: Re-load current message
- Run: Return to Test Menu
Pallete Test
A palette viewer.
- Up/Down: Cycle between Red, Green, and Blue
- Left/Right: Increment/decrement color values
- Run: Return to Test Menu
Ending Test/Ending Test2
View the games' ending screens.
