Capcom Generations 2: Chronicles of Arthur is the second installment in the Capcom Generations series, which ported older Capcom games to the PlayStation. This collection contains Ghosts'n Goblins, Ghouls'n Ghosts, and Super Ghouls'n Ghosts.

Unused Game Show Graphics

Present in both versions are several graphics which are left over from a version of the game which was shown off at a game show.

This title screen would have been enabled when the game was shown off at trade shows.

These are the title screens for Daimakaimura and Choumakaimura, the Japanese versions of Ghouls'n Ghosts and Super Ghouls'n Ghosts respectively. It seems that only Ghosts'n Goblins was playable in the game show demo, as the red text on the title screens roughly translates to "Under Construction". Interestingly, only one image has a construction barrier graphic on it, which makes the title screens mismatch. Also, the title screen for Ghouls'n Ghosts has blue text, but in the final game the text is grey, and the title screen for Super Ghouls'n Ghosts doesn't have a trademark symbol in the final.

These are the corresponding prompts for the title screens. They are stored next to the title screens, and the second one matches the text on the Super Ghouls'n Ghosts title screen.

The "Under Construction" graphic is also still in the files of the game. The construction graphics that would have been placed around it seem to have been deleted.

These "Coming Soon" screens look like the loading screens in the final game, so this is likely their purpose. It may be the loading screens for when you select Ghouls'n Ghosts or Super Ghouls'n Ghosts, but if that's true, then why does the first "Coming Soon" screen use art from Ghosts'n Goblins?

Finally, there is this garish graphic in the files, which would have been the background for...

...these credits! The final game doesn't have any, so it's nice to actually see some names attached to this collection! Unfortunately, it is currently unknown who these individuals are. These graphics may have been used in the game show version.
