First released in Japan as the Family Computer Robot for the Famicom, the Robotic Operating Buddy (R.O.B.), with the NES' second-shortest-lived library the Robot Series, was another pioneer in helping Nintendo get into the American console market after the video game crash of 1983.
The aforementioned utility nowadays is more remembered for appearances in various later titles, most notably its playable turns in Mario Kart DS and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
