Unused and removed Super Troop assets.

Dragon

The Dragon troop from Clash of Clans was planned to return in Clash Royale, but the troop was scrapped and replaced by the Baby Dragon, due to its body blocking too much of the battlefield. Sprites for it can be found in version 1.0.0 on iOS.

Sneaky Archer

The Sneaky Archer is the Builder Base variant of the Archer from Clash of Clans. Found in V2.2.1 by the Redditor HUN73R_13.

Neutral Wizard

The Neutral Wizard's name is taken from the .sc files chr_neutral_wizard.sc and chr_neutral_wizard_tex.sc. What this troop would have done is currently unknown. This sprite sheet can be found in V1.0.0 of the game on iOS in the previously mentioned files.

Early Tesla Evolution

Sprites for an early Tesla Evolution which can only be found in the Chinese version. These unused sprites were removed from the game in version 50142017 for the season 57 update.

Early Guard Design

Early Fire Spirit Design

Golemite Cave

A sprite for a Golemite Cave was in versions 1.1.0 to 1.1.2. Neither the card icon nor its text can be found anywhere. This texture is found under assets\sc\building_golemite_cave.sc and assets\sc\building_golemite_cave_tex.sc.

The Golemite Cave has special rendering info known as "building_golemiteCave". This only rotates the Golemite Cave texture though.

Elixir Collector

These are all of the unused textures found in assets\sc\building_elixir_collector.sc and assets\sc\building_elixir_collector_tex.sc. Any assets related to an Elixir Storage are directly taken from Clash of Clans.

Unused Card Parts

Goblin Hut

The goblin hut has two parts of the model that are never seen in-game. There is an unused interior for the hut and a small section of the roof goes unused (the gray thing in the middle). These parts in-game are covered by other sprites, making them impossible to see.

Tombstone

Some weird looking slab that is possibly meant for the inside of the tombstone, but it gets covered by other assets.

Only a portion of the slab the X-Bow stands on is normally visible.

Changed Troops

Ice Spirit/Ice Sprites

Ice Spirit, also known by the in-game files as "Ice Sprites" under the "sc" directory. Most likely an old version of Ice Spirits texture.

Original Princess Sprites

These sprites were meant for the Princess legendary card. They can be found in V1.1.1 under chr_princess_twins.sc. When these sprites were in the game, a work in progress version of the Princess card was already added to characters.csv. Interesting to note is that internally she was called "PrincessB", she dealt no damage, had a speed of 60 (same as a bomber), 125 hitpoints (same as an archer), 1200 hitspeed (same as an archer), 1000 load time (same as a hog rider) and she had a range of 5500 (same as an archer). Almost all other stats, including the name are directly copied over from the archers. She did interestingly enough already have her own projectile implemented called "PrincessProjectile".

Knight

The old knight, good times. Also, this version can be seen in pre-release screenshots and gameplay footage of old versions.

Ice Wizard

A very old Version of the Ice Wizard, this maybe was the start for introducing the Ice Wizard. The card photo doesn't exist because there wasn't any legendaries in the old version. Can be found in V1.1.1. Notably, his hair cut is different, he has a beard and his jacket fully changes colour depending on which players side he is.

Golem

The Golem originally had a dog collar, but this was changed with the May 2016 Update. This was replaced with new spritesheets with scales on its back.

Please note that the Name String ID "TID_BUILDING_GIANT_SKELETON_BOMB" seems to simply be a placeholder coming from a template used to add new buildings that aren't their own card. Think of TID's as names that tell the game what the text needs to be somewhere.

Tribes

Some troop cards have an unused "Tribe" value in their data. They seem to be based on the "Families" of each troop character, as seen in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPIMiiXj8Ds&t=2196s, and could've been meant to be displayed in their respective card info. This info can be found at "assets\csv_logic\spells_buildings.csv" & "assets\csv_logic\spells_characters.csv" & "assets\csv_logic\spells_other.csv" & "assets\csv_logic\spells_evolved.csv" & "assets\csv_logic\tribes.csv". All cards ending with "EV1" are evolutions. Most of them have the knight evolution as placeholder.

Removed Cards

elite wildcards

Prior to december 2025, level 16 didn't exist. To upgrade a card to level 15, you would need a special type of card called "elite wildcard". the number of needed cards was 50 thousand. These cards could be obtained through events, trophy road, level-up chests and by having card overflow on a card that is level 14.
