Dancing Eyes is essentially Namco's take on Amidar, but in 3D and with grown women (mostly) that you have to uncover. The game quickly gained controversy over its content, but that didn't stop Namco from planning (but ultimately cancelling) an HD remaster for the PlayStation 3 with PS Move support. A build of this prototype was found and dumped in 2025.

Version Differences

Even though it's known that the game was only ever officially released in Japan, MAME has documented sets for the US and World markets as well. The status of these sets is currently unknown.

The US and World sets remove the Japanese text from the logo.

Game Settings

  • After clearing each stage, you are given some time to move the camera around the character model you uncovered with the joystick and can even zoom in by pressing the action button. While the zoom feature is on by default in the Japanese version, the US and World versions have it off by default.
  • The default difficulty in the Japan set is Medium, while the US and World sets change it to Hard.
  • Exclusive to the Japanese version is a "Rating" setting in Game Options where you can switch between Normal and Kid. Kid, as the name implies, makes the game more family-friendly by removing/replacing a lot of the adult women characters with stuff less sexually explicit. The US and World versions remove this option entirely and basically lock the "Rating" to Kid.
