Early Songs
Street Fighter EX -Arrange Sound Trax- is an album containing remixes of songs from the arcade game that was released on March 5, 1997, a little over four months before the release of the PlayStation port. Though it ostensibly appears to be a purely standalone album, the songs included wherein are noticeably similar to the renditions in the PlayStation game, and considering the timeframe, likely formed the basis for them.
Note regardless that these do originate from a soundtrack album release, and some of the differences displayed here, such as increased song length, may have occurred purely for the sake of the album's creation.
| Name | CD | PlayStation | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rising Dragoon (Ryu) | The intro section is longer than the PlayStation version. The synths also sound different and have more presence in the mix. An additional segment is present from 2:52 to 3:39 that is absent on the PlayStation version. Curiously, an extended version of the PlayStation track featuring the additional segments from the CD track was included in the soundtrack for Fighting EX Layer. | ||
| Guardian of Light (Ken) | Has a longer intro section than PlayStation. Contains different and more prominent synths. Sounds slightly more like the arcade rendition compared to PlayStation as a result. Repeats the prior section from 1:17 to 2:05 before moving to the next. Once again, an extended version of the PlayStation track featuring the CD track's augmented segments was included in Fighting EX Layer's soundtrack. | ||
| Strange Sunset (Guile & Allen) | The intro section is longer. The synths are different and more prominent. Lacks the backing live guitar the PlayStation version has. Has a section from 2:26 to 2:55 that is absent in PlayStation. | ||
| Sakura Mankai (Hokuto & Kairi) | A completely different arrangement. Is noticeably more distinct from the arcade rendition compared to the PlayStation version. | ||
| Under Tube (Doctrine Dark) | The intro section is significantly longer than the PlayStation version. Also has slightly different synths. | ||
| Amusementative Crime (Skullomania) | A fairly different arrangement, has more basic instrumentation and a guitar section from 1:59 to 2:32 not present in the PlayStation version. | ||
| Garnet Sky (Cracker Jack & Blair) | A completely different arrangement. Is extremely distinct from the arcade rendition compared to the PlayStation version. | ||
| Arabesque (Pullum) | A completely different arrangement. Is very distinct from the arcade rendition compared to PlayStation. | ||
| Cold Pipe (Zangief) | A completely different arrangement. Is notably a lot closer to the arcade version's rendition than PlayStation. | ||
| God Hands (Akuma) | A completely different arrangement. Is extremely distinct from the arcade rendition compared to PlayStation. | ||
| Irreconcilably (Bison & Darun) | The intro section is a fair bit longer. Has slightly different synths. Contains an additional section after 3:48 where the song fades out on PlayStation. An extended version of the PlayStation track featuring the additional segments from the CD track is present in Fighting EX Layer's soundtrack. | ||
| Stronger (Garuda & Evil Ryu) | A fairly different arrangement, has fewer instruments used and a less full sound overall. Loops the initial melody again from 1:22 to 2:21 unlike the PlayStation version, and the section that follows it from 2:22 to 3:29 has a different melody. | ||
| Spinning Bird (Chun-Li) | A completely different arrangement. Is very distinct from the arcade rendition compared to the PlayStation version. |
