The Data East logo was removed, shifting the options upward. The Nintendo of America credit was replaced by one for Data East Corp., though the copyright date is still 1986.

Some of the music and sound effects use the FDS' wavetable channel in the Japanese version.
Unused Cheat Code
The US release has an inaccessible cheat embedded in the code: While the title screen is scrolling up, if byte 0x4F is 00 and byte 0x52 is 0A, the player can press Up, Down, Left, Right, Down, Right, Up, Left, A, B to enable a counter which can be increased up to 99 by pressing A rapidly (entering the code sets byte 0x4F to FF, which then allows the next block of code to run). The counter resets as soon as a demo starts.
It is currently unknown what the counter is for, but could be a stage/difficulty selector. It is also currently unknown how to set byte 0x52 to 0A without hacking.
