Mahou Gakuen Lunar!, also known as Magical School Lunar!, is a remake of the 1996 Game Gear game Lunar: Samposuru Gakuen. It's a very cute RPG following the story of Elie, Lena and Senia, three young magical school students.

Unused Text

The save game screen lists the title of the chapter the player is currently in. This includes a label for the prologue, even though the player never has the chance to save during it. This text is located at 0x9B4 in the file 0.

Chapter 9

The chapter 9 script includes multiple copies of a story sequence in which Lena ponders kissing the school's doctor, Emma, while she sleeps. While most of these copies are identical, there are two variations of the ending: the version used in-game, which is vague about what happens, and an unused version that goes into more detail. Bolded lines in the comparison are different between the two versions.

Chapter 10

The chapter 10 script includes an unreferenced bit of text in the dialogue which reads メッセージ修正中 (Message under revision).

Chapter 12

The dialogue immediately before fighting Barua at the end of the final dungeon is displayed in a slightly different order from the internal script. The order in the script reads slightly more naturally, so this was probably a very late development tweak. The bolded line in this comparison is the one that was moved.
