This is a sub-page of Mega Man (NES).

FamicomBox

The FamicomBox version of Rockman is mostly identical to the Japanese Famicom version. But when played on an original FamicomBox kiosk, the game automatically resets after defeating the final boss but before the credit scene plays.

Mega Man Anniversary Collection

Title Screen (MMAC)

Japan (Famicom) Europe (NES) Anniversary Collection
RM1Title.png Credit where it's due. Nah, never mind.

Like the other games in the collection, the title screen is based on the Japanese Complete Works version as such:

  • To mimic the international releases more closely, the screen was blacked out, Mega Man was removed, and the "Press Start" text was shifted upward.
    • Pressing Start still plays the "stage selected" sound effect.
  • The US Mega Man logo was used and stretched out.
  • The trademark text was shifted to mirror the international releases, somewhat.
  • The copyright info was updated, shifted, and slightly squished.

Much like what's seen in Mega Man Legacy Collection, the Nintendo of America license isn't present here, but for obvious reasons.

Flashing Light Effect

Perhaps due to the risk of epilepsy, almost all the flashing light effects in the game were completely modified to be less intense.

When the screen flashes during the boss introduction, instead of going completely white, here it maintains the same color pattern as the normal screen, but in the Japanese version the palette is only lighter, while in the American version it is darker.

Boss Fight (Cut Man)

NES / Famicom Capcom Town (Japan) Capcom Town (USA)

Although in the original version the background flashes white, in the Japanese version seen in Capcom Town the background remains gray, however the dark gray palette has been replaced by white, while in the American version all background colors except black are gray.
