Like DeNA's previous Pokémon game, content is added every month through new Expansions. Events are also added to the game the same time the Expansions are released.
The day before the Wisdom of Sky and Sea Expansion released it was discovered that the 3-Star version of Ho-Oh ex illustrated by SIE NANAHARA was traced from fan artist Lanjiujiu's Ho-Oh fan art [4]. After fast Social Media backlash about traced art, this version of Ho-Oh ex, as well as the companying Lugia ex by the same artist for good measure were replaced the next day with a "NEW ART COMING SOON" version, which also lacks an Immersive video. A not-fully-transparent statement about the art was made saying it would be replaced in due time. [5]. On August 8th new art by SIE NANAHARA for both 3-Star Ho-Oh ex and Lugia ex would be added, replacing the contemporary NEW ART COMING SOON versions.

The Phanpy Promo Card for the September 2025 Wonder Pick Event used the same art as Triumphant Light's Phanpy card, with the art originating from the Lost Thunder set. A small update on September 13th would replace it with different artwork from an existing Sword and Shield TCG Phanpy Promo Card. The Pokémon.com page for the event still lists Asako Ito as an artist.
