This is a sub-page of Proto:The Simpsons Game (PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii).

Most of the voicelines in the Wii prototype are text-to-speech placeholders. The x at the start of the voiceline filenames signify it's a TTS placeholder, while the d signifies it's fully voiced. This page documents voicelines that were removed, some of which being unused in the final and New-Gen E3 prototype, or even used in the E3 prototype.

Vocal Reacts

Inside each .enBE file (which contains character voicelines), there are surprisingly 385 voicelines for Selma, Marge, and 8-Bit Marge, which appear to be related to their character sound effects. Interestingly, in both the Old-Gen and New-Gen versions of the game, these types of sounds are handled by the sound effects system and not the voiceline system. Although these entries don’t include chatter types or actual audio, they do have "subtitles" that describe the kind of sound effect each line would trigger. Given the large number of entries (far more than expected for just those three characters), it’s likely that some of these sounds were used for other characters, with one character ID (like Marge's) being used as a placeholder during development.
