An early vertical shooter by Toaplan that would prove to become very popular. A sequel, Fire Shark, would be released a few years later.

In Japan, the game was originally released as Hi Sho Zame, which literally translates as "Flying Shark". This would end up being the name used for its release in Europe. For the game's US release, it was renamed to Sky Shark.
