SpongeBob and friends fight a bunch of booger monsters in their final adventure on the PlayStation 2.
Due to Blue Tongue Entertainment working on de Blob, THQ hired Incinerator Studios to handle the sequel to Attack of the Toybots, reusing the same engine; unfortunately, the combination of it, and many, many bugs (including being able to corrupt the save file by saving in the hub on the Wii version) would effectively halt the Unite! series.
It is also notable for being the only entry of the series not to feature characters from The Fairly OddParents! at all, and to not get a Game Boy Advance incarnation.

Unseen Geometry
Bubble Bass Boss
Underneath the stage of the Bubble Bass boss fight two rectangular prisms can be seen under Bubble Bass' hands, away from the player's normal field of view. When he uses his left hand to attack, the left rectangle moves to the right, and when he uses his right hand to attack, the right rectangle moves to the left. The rectangle will move back to where it started once Bubble Bass finishes his attack.
Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots Leftovers
Unsurprisingly, Globs of Doom was built upon Attack of the Toybots's engine, so there are a few leftovers from that game:
- The achievement list.
- Character health icons.
- Copyright-related screens.
Version Differences
There are a few minor changes between the PlayStation 2 and Wii versions:
- The PlayStation 2 has a drop shadow over the title screen logo that is missing in the Wii version.
- The fog level has been adjusted in the PlayStation 2 version, generally being less dense than it is on Wii. For some reason, it is outright missing during sliding sections, which makes it rather easy to see the terrain pop into existence.
- Textures seem to be a lower resolution in the PS2 version, likely due to its weaker hardware.
- The music is higher quality in the Wii version, using a sample rate of 44100 Hz, while PS2 ranges from 32000 Hz, 22050 Hz and 16000 Hz.
- The Wii version contains a game breaking bug where if you save in the HUB area and reset the game the save file will corrupt. This bug is not present in the PS2 version.
- Goo has a shine effect on the Wii that is completely missing on PlayStation 2.
- In the level "Dump City", the Theater has blue carpet interior in the main area in the PS2 version. However, in the Wii version, most of them are not present. In the Theater, after entering the bathroom and enter one of the stalls a fish runs out and runs off to the wall, he is just running in place at the wall.
Regional Differences
| North America | International |
|---|---|
The Licensed by Nintendo screen is rather dull in the North American version, being entirely text-based while international versions use the proper Nintendo logo.
- For whatever reason, playing European versions in 16:9 will simply stretch the (already widescreen) FMVs horizontally, rather than it filling the complete image.
Oddities
Level Icons
Most of the level icons were evidently taken in earlier builds of the game, as they show differences to their proper levels.
- Bikini Bottom 2 lacks any bloom effects, and the stage has a more dull color scheme to it. The crosswalk is also missing.
- Zim's Town 2 is missing most of the vertex lighting, giving the stage a much brighter look. Some fences in front of the factory would also be removed in the final.
- Amity Park 1 has the Fenton Works building seemingly rotated, with the sign being in a different spot, as-is the ladder.
- Amity Park 2 has a building beside the final area that was removed in the final.
- Retroville 1 is missing all of the goo puddles, which matches up with a prerelease image.
- Retroville 2 has a prominent dog house just before the cars section that is missing from the proper stage. Some of the trees were swapped out for others, and the truck is missing the goo and its logo. The grass also appears to use a darker texture in the preview.
- Pupununu 1 lacks a lot of the vegetation and seemingly has a more vibrant look.
- Pupununu 2 has much brighter moss textures in the level icon. The skybox is also less detailed, missing the clouds.
Patrick's rock
In the Bikini Bottom hub, there is a strange texture around and on top of Patrick's home. The texture seems to come from Patrick's model.
"Dump City" bus
After getting off the bus, the characters appear right before the bus does to let them off.
Missing giant Morphoid monster
In the first Amity Park level, when the player(s) go to the top of Casper High and look at the baseball field, the giant morphoid monster that appears later is not there.
Missing periscope
In the first two Bikini Bottom levels, in the gameplay, the buses don't have the "periscope."
Danny Phantom in Tak's voice
During the cutscene, when Danny says, "C'mon we near got all of the pieces," his voice sounds like Tak's.
Music Oddities
- Amity Park's music internally is denoted as A05, A06, and A07, while Zim's Town is A08, A09, and A10. However, in-game, Zim's Town is the second world and then is followed by Amity Park, suggesting that the level order was rearranged at some point. In the DS version, Amity Park is the second world, however Zim's Town is entirely absent altogether.
- All tracks for the slide sections are listed as the last songs in the files. It appears that they were late additions, as internally, they are the last stages listed other than the final boss.
