TMNT: Tournament Fighters sees the turtles entering a fighting tournament featuring Shredder as a contestant, among other characters. Standard fighting game fare.

There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.

Around 3 months after the US release, the game was given a Japanese release under a slightly different name. It features several changes.

  • In story mode the Turtle Blimp actually displays the logo and the background is day time.
  • The music in the beginning plays at the proper length.
  • You can select a character's 2nd player palette by pressing the Start button on the character select screen.
  • Some character portraits are drawn differently.
  • Several moves have had their damage and reach re-balanced.
  • The voice of the announcer and the four Turtles are different.
  • New voice clips have been added (some originally from Turtles in Time) to make it more obvious what moves are being done.
  • The Studio 6 stage now has breakable walls, like the Genesis version.
  • In an uncommon twist, Aska was actually given more revealing clothes from the previous version, her sprite edited to show off more of her legs. She also has a new victory animation that has her breasts bounce around. This may be a case of preemptive censorship for the non-Japanese releases.
