About 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure
Hi!! Sorry if this message on your user talk catches you off guard LOL. I just wanted to explain my reasoning behind the clasification of the game as a "recreation". I believe the 3D Classics series do not reuse code from the original game, bring code from the NES to the 3DS, nor attempt to rewrite what was already established. They're complete in-engine recreations of the game, hence why I described it as such. One of the more obvious examples of this being the case is Arika completely missing the 30 UP easter egg found in the original Kirby's Adventure, achieved by landing on each goal game cloud from lowest to highest, and how stereoscopic 3D works. Taking a look at other games in the series such as Urban Champion or Excitebike proves that they simply recreated the feel of the original games. Urban Champion in particular is completely remade with 3D models, but it feels and controls identically to the NES version.
Anyway, I don't wanna nerd out any more than I already have LOL! If anything I could've completely missed the original intent of the message left in the edit summary... Anyway, I didn't want to edit the article as to not create an edit war without proper discussion of what we both think is right to classify the game as. Sorry again for the sudden message ^^" -Vyroz (talk) 02:42, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hey. No worries, was kind of expecting a message here (i accidentally saved that revision before finishing the summary so i couldn't fully clarify, lol). I don't feel too firm on this, so you can feel free to revert it and I won't edit war or anything - but please edit the other 3D Classics pages to say the same thing, in that case, lest they end up inconsistent. That said, that's part of why I didn't like the word "recreation, because although Kirby very much intends to be faithful aside from the 3D, the others go far beyond that, and calling them a "recreation" kind of undersells them more than "enhanced port". And "enhanced recreation" is weird :P. I do still think "port" is accurate even in cases where the original code is hardly referenced if at all (e.g. Sonic CD 2011) for the reasons I explained in the revision summary, and I have reason to believe the 3D Classics were made with a fair amount of referencing the original code, despite some things being missed. But unfortunately, none of this terminology is very well-defined, so there's always going to be differing opinions. So again, I'll leave it up to you.
