Possibly needless apology(?)

Hello! I know it's been a while since I made this contribution, but I wanted to apologize for something. I made a new section for the Sonic 1 Tokyo Toy Show demo talk page recently, and I saw you replied to it. In one of your edit summaries when replying to the section, you said "vaporise this user", and I was a little alarmed at that wording. I want to apologize for continually bringing up obvious hoaxes like this one. Part of me keeps hoping they're true, and I am a naturally eager person when it comes to long-lost footage like the supposed "footage" I found. I didn't mean to annoy anyone to the point of causing angry and irritated feelings and I feel bad about continually bringing up hoaxes. I thank you for your advice when you replied to me.

Anyway, I felt the need to apologize for my stubbornness, even if I don't truly need to for something as trivial as this. I am interested in getting better at recognizing hoaxes as a result of this encounter. Thank you, and have a good day! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 03:49, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

I don't think an apology is necessary. I can hardly blame you for being eager to believe that you've stumbled onto something important. The strong wording I used in the edit is just a result of me getting easily annoyed, but that's a me problem. I should be the one apologising. So, I'm sorry for that.
Also, "vaporise this user" was just a little joke. I don't think you should actually be reduced to vapours. Sorry if that wasn't clear. --Murnjendoof (talk) 05:48, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for clarifying. I get annoyed sometimes as well. I feel a lot better now! Again, thank you, and have a great day! -- FanOfRosalina2007 (talk) 21:09, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

RE: "Heavy the Mechanic"

Hello, I figure I'd bring this up here instead of getting into a potential edit war. Regarding the change on the Knuckles Chaotix article that I'd reverted then you'd un-reverted, I believe that the extant wording of 'Also, Heavy is listed as "Heavy the Mechanic", rather than "Heavy the Eggman's Mechanic" as it would by the 1207 build.' covers the pre-release screenshot, with the added text "that title being given to Bomb instead" not only not fitting the screenshot, but also being false given information from the game's manual. I'm open to hear your reasoning on re-adding the text so we can come to an understanding. - s_SoNick (talk) (contribs) 2024-08-17T00:48:23+00:00 00:48, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

Looking at it now, what you're saying seems pretty reasonable. I think I just got tripped up by the fact that you were referencing the final game's manual while editing a sentence that was only talking about the pre-release screenshot... but yeah, I suppose the wording there is a bit misleading. Sorry for the confusion, if you'd like to re-add that edit I won't revert it again. --Murnjendoof (talk) 04:56, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
No worries, it happens! I know I come across harsh sometimes, but I mean no ill will. I'll watch my edit summaries so I can try to convey my meanings more clearly. - s_SoNick (talk) (contribs) 2024-08-17T06:47:08+00:00 06:47, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

Regarding your recent edit on the Mega Man II page

I don't think that TODO suggestion in your recent edit is going to be useful for this page. It should probably go into the TCRF "Common Things" page, since it affects more than just this game, but rather nearly every instance of the sound driver across games, as there's more than just one game with this sound driver. Because of this, I think it shouldn't be put on the page for Mega Man II, but instead an example should be put on the Common Things page. --MK5 (talk) 03:33, 18 January 2026 (UTC)

If you think it's something that should be added to Common Things, that's probably something to bring up with an admin. In any case, I doubt they'll agree that it shouldn't be documented on the Mega Man II page; this is a very similar situation to the NES Bit Reversal phenomenon, which affects the audio in multiple games and is documented on Common Things, but is also documented on each individual game's page. At this point, I don't see any reason to remove the todo. --Murnjendoof (talk) 03:58, 18 January 2026 (UTC)
