This page contains notes for the game Deltarune.

Filenames vs. Soundtrack Names

The names of most music in Deltarune's files contradicts with their name on the official soundtrack releases on Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube, and other streaming platforms. The following compares the two and adds additional comments if necessary.

Though Chapter 3 and 4's soundtracks are grouped together on official releases, they will not be such on this page for posterity.

mus_introcar.ogg	Beginning	The first of a few files using Undertale's file formatting (putting mus_ before the track name). This suggests the songs were created during Undertale's development.

AUDIO_DARKNESS.ogg	Darkness Falls	Only plays when selecting "NO" after death. Another all-caps filename with the AUDIO_ prefix.
prejoker.ogg	The Circus
joker.ogg	THE WORLD REVOLVING
friendship.ogg	Friendship
THE_HOLY.ogg	THE HOLY	Another all-caps filename, this time consistent with the soundtrack release's title.
snd_usefountain.ogg	Your Power	Oddly, this file is not located in the mus folder in the base directory, unlike all other music tracks. It is instead located inside each chapter's individual directories (e.g. chapter1_windows, chapter2_windows, etc). Why this is the case is unknown.
town.ogg	A Town Called Hometown	Slightly slowed and pitched down in-game.
home.ogg	You Can Always Come Home
dontforget.ogg	Don't Forget
AUDIO_STORY.ogg	Before the Story	Another all-caps filename with the AUDIO_ prefix, and the only song used in the file select screen to use this format.

spamton_happy.ogg	A Real Boy!
spamton_neo_after.ogg	Dialtone	Strangely named; while the song is used after Spamton NEO is defeated, the song also plays beforehand in Spamton's shop. This could be due to "HEY EVERY !" being Spamton's original shop theme, with this music swap being a rather late one.
muscle.ogg	sans.	Strangely named in the files. The filename is the same in Undertale as well, though with the mus_ prefix.
napsta_alarm.ogg	Chill Jailbreak Alarm to Study and Relax to	This is (currently) the longest track title on the official soundtrack.
ch2_credits.ogg	Until Next Time

You Can Always Come Home and Before the Story are repeated on Chapter 2's soundtrack release, but other re-used tracks like THE HOLY are not.

board_zelda.ogg	Adventure Board	The filename is a very tongue-in-cheek reference to The Legend of Zelda, of which the boards are based on.
N/A	Query?	Unused in-game and not included in the game's file, only appearing in the official soundtrack release and a pre-release social media post.
TV_GAME.ogg	Quiz!	Another all-caps filename for some reason.

minigame_kart.ogg	Physical Challenge	Strangely titled; no kart minigame is ever played as a "physical challenge". While there is a racing minigame playable in the Green Room, it doesn't use this track.
nes_intro_extended_part2.ogg	Board Clear!	The official release combines this track with snd_nes_intro_extended.ogg (embedded in the data.win file for Chapter 3). Oddly, there is a duplicate of this file (snd_nes_intro_extended_part2.ogg) located in the same place as the first part of the song.
