Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team/Unused Moves
This is a sub-page of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team.
| To do: Add move descriptions from the Japanese version. |
There are 58 unused moves in the game, though the vast majority of them are still used by the game indirectly.
These moves can be accessed by using the respective cheat code:
| Red Rescue Team (GameShark) | Blue Rescue Team (Action Replay) |
|---|---|
820042AA ????
|
02115528 ????0005
|
The code will modify the first move of the first Pokémon while in a Dungeon. The "????" must be replaced with the relative move ID. Valid values are up to 019C.
Note that the move Type, PP, Power, Hit Rate, and Range are often not indicative to the actual effect in-game.
Triggered Indirectly
These moves are actually used by the game, but their Type, PP uses, and move description are unseen.
| Move ID | Effect ID | Name | Type | PP | Range | In-game Description | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0160 | 0005 | Struggle | Normal | 1 | Foe in front | Inflicts damage on the target. However, the user also takes damage one quarter of its maximum HP. |
Used in place of a move if all PPs of all moves are consumed. |
| 0163 | 0001 | attack | None | 17 | Foe in front | NULL | Used by pressing A button. |
| 0165 | 007C | がまん | Fighting | 17 | Foe in front | NULL | Used when the Bide status ends. The move name is the Japanese version of move name Bide. |
| 0198 | 010A | Item-Toss | None | 96 | Special | NULL | Used when tossing an item. |
Triggered by Orb Items
All Orb items in the game actually trigger specific moves to work. However, many Orbs trigger moves which are completely unseen in-game, though every one of them has a specific name and PP value.
Completely Unused
These moves are not used during normal gameplay by any means.
| Move ID | Effect ID | Name | Type | PP | Range | In-game description | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0169 | 00E3 | Excavate | None | 99 | User | NULL | Same effect as Rock Smash move, though its range is User instead than Wall. Also, Ginseng item can be applied to it, though it gives no bonus whatsoever, as it isn't a damaging move. |
| 016A | 0000 | Spin Slash | None | 10 | Foe at side | NULL | Same effect and animation as the Cut move. |
| 018E | 00DF | Famish | None | 22 | Foes in room | NULL | This is likely to be a discarded Orb item effect. Decreases enemies' belly in the room by 10, which means it's pretty useless, since it needs to be used 10 times to empty enemies' belly, unlike the item Hunger Seed, which does that in a single use. |
