The original title for this game was Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2, and it's also the name used in most of the demo builds. Intended as a direct sequel to Most Wanted 2005 (possibly ignoring that the events of Carbon ever happened?), Most Wanted 2 was aimlessly experimented on for over a year before EA set Criterion to making a game for a 2012 release date, resulting in most of the original concepts and content being cut and leaving players with a barebones game akin to Burnout Paradise.
30 builds are known to exist, all for the PS3.
According to hidden palace, the build dating from September 16 also exist but it was incomplete AND it was infected by a virus, the virus was removed.
Early builds have a blacklist different from the final game, though it seems this blacklist has survived in the form of the one in the iOS/Android version .
