This is a sub-page of The Simpsons Game (PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii).

Many of these unused text strings are leftovers from earlier builds of the New-Gen version.

As is the case with most Asura engine games, the 1st string in all of the SYS_##.ASR files, where ## is replaced with the language name, has a placeholder string with text that shouldn't ever be seen.

In-Game Cutscene Names

Internal text strings for the FMV names for the cutscenes that are played in-game on the New-Gen version. The "Airship to Sky Island" cutscene is played in-game on Old-Gen as well, however. The cutscene "Bullies conspire" is present in this version's cutscene selection as "The Bullies Scheme". "Climbing the Tower/Intro to heaven" is not in-game on either version, being an animated FMV. "Intro couch gag" is also only present on the New-Gen version and shows your current percentage after you complete the game.

Wii Moments

Text for unlocking a Wii Moment.

String Label String
wii_glo_01 You have unlocked a Wii Moment!

Bite Night

In both game modes of the Wii Moment, there was a scrapped mechanic where you could stun your opponent by filling part of the Gastro-Meter, rather than waiting to fully charge it and burp.

String Label String
wii_bni_06 Your Gastro-Meter shows how much pressure is building up in your stomach

Bart Wings

Originally, the instructions screen was supposed to show the plot instead of Grampa explaining in the intro to the Wii Moment.

String Label String
wii_bwi_01 Grandpa Simpson tried to protect several expensive art pieces from Burns, but his Hellfish plane has been shot and he needs Bartman's help.
wii_bwi_02 The art pieces are in a crate attached to a parachute that is slowly falling to the ground. Bart must Bartcape down to try to recover the art pieces.

Heartburn

Although the Heartburn Wii Moment was cut from the game, there are still many leftover text strings related to it.

Text strings for the Wii Moment when entering from the main menu or from a level.

String Label String
wii_MENU_WM_PLAY_HB Play Heartburn Wii Moment?
wii_MENU_WM_NAME_HB Heartburn

These text strings were meant to serve as a tutorial before the Heartburn Wii Moment. Interestingly, while the text says the Nacho Squishee is found in the Kwik-E-Mart, the Wii prototype shows it actually taking place in Krusty Burger. It seems that the Krusty Burger would have been reskinned into the Kwik-E-Mart.

String Label String
