Unused Graphics

Cut Password System?

PACKED0.TMS[6] contains a "Codes" menu option, which implies the game might've had a password system like TM2 or menu-activated cheatcodes.

Random Level Option

PACKED0.TMS[8] and PACKED1.TMS[11] shows an idea for a random level selection, possibly like pressing R1 in TM2. This video shows it being loaded as a level, although it's not playable.

Movie Stand-Ins

MOVIE.TIM and EMOVIE.TIM are placeholder graphics for the intro and ending FMV sequences.

Modifying FPS Limiter

The game has variable framerate support, targeting 20 FPS by default. This can be modified by the following GameShark codes:

• 8018D958 001E 30 FPS (shown in the embed)
• 8018D958 003C 60 FPS

While this makes button inputs more responsive (as button press/depressing is calculated each game frame), things are slightly faster than they were at 20 FPS, some more breaking than others. 60 FPS requires overclocking in an emulator (while failing to work on some computers) and breaks some stage hazards as seen in this playthrough.
