Hot Shots Tennis is a spinoff of the Everybody's Golf series, this time focusing on tennis. Unlike some of the golf games in the series, none of the characters were altered for different regions.

Opening

  • The European version displays with a language select at startup.
    • The English translation is different between the North American and European versions.

  • Each version has a different logo, different fonts and different copyright information.
  • The Japanese version says "Push START button" while the other versions say "Press START button".
    • "Press START button" is translated for different European languages.

Cutscenes

Japan US Europe
  • The intro is slightly different in the Japanese version, having different shots at certain points as well as text stating each Court's name. There is also a voice stating the game's name at the end of the intro.
  • The intro plays out the same in the North American and European versions although the dub differs between the two versions.
  • Each version of the game has its respective logo during the intro as well as a different animation when the logo appears at the end.
  • The video in the credits is a different size in each version. The video is bigger in the European version and smaller in the North American version.
  • The credits are in Japanese in the Japanese version and in English in the European/American versions.
  • The credits have a different font in the North American and European versions and some of the credited names are different.
  • At the end of the credits, Ashley/Yelena serves a ball while in the North American and European versions, Cody/Yuki serves the ball.
  • Each version has its respective logo at the end of the credits.
    • The intro and credits are the same in the European version regardless of the language chosen.

Options

  • By default, music is set to on in the Japanese and European versions and to off in the North American version.
  • The European version allows the player to select the spoken language for the characters. The player can choose English (UK), French, German, Spanish, Italian or Japanese.
    • The default dub depends on the language selected. English, French, German, Spanish and Italian are the default when one of those respective languages is selected while English is the default for other languages.
