Professor Pac-Man swaps out the ghosts-and-dots maze antics in favor of... quizzing. Unsurprisingly, it failed to catch on, and many of the machines were sent back to Bally Midway to be converted into Pac-Land ones. Only 100 units are known to still exist today.

Adverts for the game touted that three distinct versions would be available, intended for certain audiences and locales: "Family" for normal arcades, "Public" for bars, and "Prizes" for casinos. No copies of the latter two are known to exist, and it's unclear whether they were even produced.
