Error Messages

Anti-Piracy

Upon every screen transition, the game will attempt to detect if it's running on pirate hardware by checking the amount of available SRAM, which should be exactly 2KB. This is done by writing a value at $700FC0 and comparing it with the value at $7007C0 to ensure both values match as a result of the correct SRAM mirror location. If the values don't match, the above screen fades in and the game locks up.

Use Game Genie code EEDA-2ADF to activate the anti-piracy measure on the next screen transition (before the BPS logo if used on game boot).

Region Error

If the game detects that it's running on a PAL console, a typical region error screen shows up instead.

Bad Controller

During each screen transition, if the game detects that a Multitap adapter is on the controller port 1 or if there is anything but a Gamepad or Multitap connected on either port, this screen pops up. Upon changing to a valid controller configuration, the game fades out from this screen and continues.
