Pokémon Box Ruby & Sapphire is a utility that allows players to store up to 1,500 Pokémon from Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, and Emerald onto a GameCube Memory Card. Additionally, Ruby and Sapphire can be played on the TV screen with a GameCube-Game Boy Advance Cable.

Crash Debugger

If the game crashes, the Crash Handler will wait for the following inputs before showing the Crash Debugger screen: D-Pad Up, D-Pad Up, A, D-Pad Down, D-Pad Down, B, D-Pad Left, X, D-Pad Right, D-Pad Left, Y, B, A.

When the game is initialized, it tries to look for a symbol map with the filename symbol.map which would have been used to resolve the addresses. However, the final versions do not include this file.

Unused Graphics

The Japanese version of the game contains two .arc files with unused graphics.

Inside MainMenuSmpl.arc is a rough drawing of Brigette's Room. The room is flipped horizontally, but its layout is close to the final game. Brigette, however, has a very early design, sporting differently-colored clothing and hair.

Icons of a Picnicker, Lass, and Bug Catcher are in BoxExcSmpl.arc. The Bug Catcher's icon is similar to his Pokémon Stadium trainer portrait, while the Picnicker's and Lass's icons seem somewhere in between their Stadium and Stadium 2 portraits.

Enigma Berry Held Item

In the Japanese versions, Pokémon holding e-reader berries are able to be deposited in Pokémon Box without any issue. As those berries were never intended to be sent to other games, due to their data depending on the content of the scanned card, sending them to a game that does not has any e-reader berry scanned will make the berry default to the placeholder Enigma Berry, making it the only way to see it without major exploits or cheats in the Japanese versions of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald. This issue was fixed in international versions, by preventing Pokémon from being deposited if they hold an e-reader berry, stating that the Pokémon cannot be deposited with this item.
