E3 becomes available to the gaming world at large again. Windows 7 is released, to which many Vista and even XP users immediately flocked, while there's also the controversial release of the PSP Go, which drops the flagging UMD format for the PlayStation Portable completely in favor of downloads.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA is released, giving the rhythm game genre new popularity, while Borderlands also makes its debut. Street Fighter IV takes the award for the best fighting game of the year. Just Dance is released by Ubisoft, kickstarting many annual entries for years to come. Minecraft takes its first baby steps into the world, with it rapidly gaining a fandom.

Cellular systems like iOS and Android continue to update as time goes on. Speaking of which, mobile games like Angry Birds come out and gain monstrous install bases, gradually skyrocketing mobile gaming into the mainstream.

...Some gals start some wiki too. Wonder how that place is doing these days.
